SpeedWorks Racing was formed in 2007 by Peter Parrott and Hayden Harris.

The team's 2007 Indy Pro Series season included nine races with the No. 44 car piloted by Jay Howard (2006 Indy Pro Series Champion), Daniel Herrington and Adam Andretti. Howard, Herrington and Andretti compiled one pole, two Top 5 and five Top 10 finishes. Leilani Munter also tested the SpeedWorks No. 44 during this year.
In 2008, the team expanded into the Mustang Challenge Series racing the Mustang FR500s. Over the next three years, SpeedWorks put 11 drivers in three FR500s race cars. The team raced on some of the country’s best road courses and enjoyed 12 Top 10 and five Top 5 finishes … sometimes in the driving rain, in the heat and humidity, and sometimes in perfect weather. Ford discontinued its support of the Series at the end of 2010, and the Series closed.
SpeedWorks partnered with Bryan Herta Autosports in 2009 to field driver Felipe Guimaraes who piloted the No. 44 SpeedWorks car to three Top 5 finishes in three starts, including two podium finishes.
